What was the last year engines were painted GM corporate blue before they started painting them black?

the changover was mid 82. I have a late 82 vette that came originally with a black engine, a buddy of mine has an early one that was blue. We had this question over @ the crossfire forum years ago and it was indeed determined the swap to black was in the mid to late production year
