1992 GTA
I bought a 1992 Trans Am GTA with a 5.7 liter engine, I know nothing about these kinda cars......I thought it was cool, a guy I worked for had it setting in his barns the first time I worked for him and the next time I worked for him he had it setting under an oak tree, He told me he bought it brand new off of the show room floor, A guy had ordered it and the number on the title wasn't low enough for him he wanted a lower number, the VIN # is 1G2FW2382NL200376....It is completley original with 112,000 miles on it.....minimal wear andtook it to a mechanic shop, they changed all the fluids plugs, etc and it fires up , guy told me the owner was truthful with me about it....People are telling me its kinda rare!! HOw do I document and find out the information, And then how do I find its value, Or is the value whatever I can get someone to pay?? PLease help you guys talk like you know what you are talking about.......

Re: 1992 GTA
I moved your post from the 1LE thread since it's not related.
Based on the VIN you provided, you do have an 1992 GTA. There were 226 (not including exports) GTAs produced in 1992. Approximately 36 of them were the bright red color that you have. Only 80 GTAs had the factory CD player, which yours should have had. These figures are from GTA Source Page.
Your SPID sticker is located on the inside lid of the left-rear luggage compartment and has 3-character codes that define the options the car was built with. Definitions for those codes can be found on this site and others but some codes were reused across other GM vehicles, and sometimes also changed from one year to the next, so you have to be careful when decoding them.
You can also go to Compnine.com and enter your VIN to see a listing of the RPO codes for your vehicle along with generic descriptions.
While you have a low production vehicle, as sales dropped while the 4th Gen F-Body was getting ready, it's a normal 1992 GTA (top line model) and doesn't have any "special" options (1LE, etc).

Transmission: 5 speed (for all 3),auto for T/A

Re: 1992 GTA
As JT said above, look inside the car first. The magic code on the SPID sheet (inside the rear lock panel - left side hatch compartment) is Y84. That confirms GTA, regardless of missing badges, etc.
Also visit: gtasourcepage.com for more info.
Best regards.

Re: 1992 GTA
All depends on condition, smell, and how good it runs.
If its a convertible, then its rare. Otherwise 92's were the last run year for GTAs - 3rd gen as we all know.
Fair condition - right around $4K or less. Mine had 61K miles paid in that neighborhood needed paint and some mechanical work.. If its a cherry then get $5 to 6K.
Good luck.

Re: 1992 GTA
There was no 1992 GTA Convertibles but there was 1992 T/A Convertibles.
As far as worth, it significantly depends on the condition, how it appears, mechanical condition, mileage and what someone is willing to pay will be the bottom line.

Re: 1992 GTA
Brief instructions can be found below:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/prob...mages-tgo.html
If not, email them to jt@thirdgen.org and I'll post some of them.
There is no question that it's a GTA as the VIN provided has the proper GTA RPO code (Y84).

Good information provided by all here. Put simply: if you've got a '92 GTA, it's a keeper.
