Texas motor speedway pace car?
Texas motor speedway pace car?
I bought an 85 Z-28. It has a big blue sticker on the front windshield from Texas Motor Speedway, some one started to remove, but from what i can tell it says official pace car. The car is solid black and it looks original, i thought the pace cars had special paint and decals, can this be right?
i mean you cant just buy stickers like that can you?

I'd contact TMS & see if they can help you identify your car. I assume the decal shows the TMS name on it?

According to the Camaro White Book, two cars were built for the actual race, and had all-aluminum 350s instead of the 305s that went into the 6,360 Pace Car Replicas that were sold to the public.

No. 6,360 '82 "Pace Cars Replicas" were built, so it would be a little difficult to have all of them on the track for one race.

It would have been a cool sight to see all 6360 of them together. Trending Topics

Are you sure it's Texas Motor Speedway or Texas World Speedway? TMS opened in 1997 as far as I remember. TWS opened in the 70's and hosted NASCAR races into the early 80's .

Sounds like somebody who had a TMS fetish went to the local Trimline store and had some stickers cut for himself.
