So I am gonna ask a question and probably already know the answer. But I'll ask it anyway. Why can't we get reproductions of original iroc z emblems. Tri-colored exterior emblems. For that matter why is it that everything that has iroc on it has the script wrong. Do people just not care. Or does it all boil down to some copyright b.s. anyone care to chime in.

It's probably because the people doing the restorations haven't complained that the quality of the reproductions are not up to par. I've noticed the same thing with many items. Most recently with the center cap inserts. The font is close, but not exact. The amount of gelcoat on the emblem is also not correct, but they are licensed as GM Restoration parts and sold through GM.

No that's exactly the problem. The iroc emblems are supposed to be tri colored. Hawks iroc emblems are just one color with smaller lines at top.

Exactly. Licensed GM repop parts are NOT always as per installed at the factory. The 1st gen Camaro and Vette guys complained enough and the quality got much better.

However, there is no subsitute for NOS.

Re: Iroc z logo

I had purchased a set of "GM Licensed" reproduction Z28 emblems. The quality was laughable at best. I returned them, according to the guy I dealt with I was the first to complain. If that really is true I can only assume that means not all that many people care.

Re: Iroc z logo

Is this also the same for the door decals?

I need to redo the ones on my 87 Z as the previous owner for whatever reason swapped with an almost same color T/A so the paint is off and the original decals are gone. I plan to restore the car to 98% original and want the decals spot on correct.
