if you have a choice between 2 camaro with everything same, accept 1 is iroc z and other is just z28, which one would you rather have and why ?

 

I say this even though my 86 started life as an iroc..... I prefer the two tone paint on the 85,86,87 Z28's. I love them in white/gold and black/gold. If I would have been at a dealership at that time I probably would have wanted a 85 white/gold 5 speed L69. All I'd want from an Iroc would be suspension goodies.

 

I like the the IROC-Z trim package better myself. I like the regular Z28's too but not quite as much.

If i am buying it brand new than yes I would definitely want the top of the line Iroc Z

But if i am buying it used it really does not matter... at the end of the day I am going to end up changing everything on it anyways...

 

Irocs had FE2 suspension and a wonder bar. On Z28's FE2 was optional....I think.

 

I'd take the one with the hardtop, V8, and 5-speed with the most performance options available from the factory. If, in this comparison, that meant the IROC-Z, then I'd add the decal-delete option.

 

I would and did go for the IROC-Z for the look, suspension, engine, status, etc. They are really the most iconic 3rd Gens and one of the most well known Camaros in history. That said, there are other Z28s I woudn't mind owning also, just not the 85-87 base Z28s basically.

 

^ What he said. If I had to choose a non Iroc-z. I would get a 91-92 Z28. Put an iroc spoiler on it. Lower it with some 18's. Nice clean look.

 

IROC Z 87-88 because I like the decals further towards the front of the door. G92 package but I would have tried to order a 350 with the T-5 trans

Also I think it'd be sweet to buy a brand new Berlinetta with the digital dash and all the bells n whistles of its "different" styling. That was some space age **** back then!

 

Or an 89 Decal delete and put the decals where ever you want

Does .30 over make a 350 ?

 

.30 over makes a 310 roughly... with a 400 crank would make a 335 roughly but I don't have that. I am not a fan of those who clone IROCs but as long as you bought a real IROC with decal delete and then put the decals where you like them; I think that's acceptable..

 

The problem with your comment is that the decals for the '87 were at the front of the door and the decals for the '88 were at the rear. You didn't have to wait until '89 to get decal delete. That was available in '88.

 

why do you want a iroc decal delete ? having iroc decal is what it a iroc
