CFI AC hose assembly

I am looking for a OE AC flex hose assembly part number for the 83/82 crossfire. All the sites I have come across list AC Delco 15-3419/ GM 14076084 as the correct part for the crossfire but it does not fit. There has to be another assembly that was made for the CFI engine.

PS if you know what 15-3419 does fit I would like to know since I am the owner of 2 of them now. Like to find someone who could use them.

82 routes the hoses right in front of the air cleaner. 83 loops around over the fan shroud. Replacements all loop around the fan shroud.

Thanks look like the same picture I have in my shop manual for the car. Now if I could only find an hose assembly that will route that way and not over the fan shoud.

Where does it hit?/
Do they look different then the originals?
If you still have your original hoses you can have the hoses replaced and reuse your original fittings. This is what I did.

Thanks I will check out those part numbers and see what I can come up with. Just checked the part number I got was 14076084. Maybe I will have better luck with 14078084.

I only have the original fitting that comes off the comp and a few inches of the hoses. The hoses I have hit the hood where they route over the fan shroud. You can force the hood to close but you would have to flatten the hoses to do so.

Do you have the original straps that hold the hoses to the shroud? I can't see the replacements being that much thicker then the stock hoses. In fact, my new hoses look thinner then the originals.

The hose retainer is located on the top of the alt. bracket. There is not a strap on the shroud. If you have a picture of yours maybe that would be helpful. GM might of changed the hose at some point. All of the pictures I have seen have the hoses routed over the alt bracket and not the shroud.

Re: CFI AC hose assembly

So you have the older style that passed over the alternator. Strange for an 83. Most I have seen have the hoses passing over the shroud. On the top of your shroud do you have the rib? The original shrouds had it but later on when they moved the hoses GM did away with it. It probably cause clearance issues. Excuse the horrible pic of my car - it was from when the body work was getting done. But you can see the rib on it in the picture. The later ones did not have it.

You can see in this pic that those lines run right where that rib would be. This car is an 83. It has the later shroud and AC lines.

Thanks I will start looking for a new shroud might be eaiser to find than the hose assembly. I think being a early production 83 model year GM was trying to use up some left over 82 parts. I have run across a number of parts that are dated 82. Not being the original owner it is hard to tell.

The shroud has been reproduced and I am pretty sure Hawks still has some NOS ones. I got mine from Hawks.

I got that photo from my GM Camaro 82-92 parts and illustration manual. Note that there no part numbers for the hoses - even though they were shown. However, the fittings numbers were there. Based on that photo, if you need a part number for anything else, let me know.

Re: CFI AC hose assembly

Thanks to all of you I got the ac lines installed but still lacking the plastic retaining straps that hold the lines in place on top of the shroud. My local parts guy can not find them in the parts catalog. Any idea where I can find a set or a part number for them?
