I've always liked the pace cars. Looks like this seller is going for Barrett-Jackson pricing.

The 4 mile iroc sold for something like 25-27 if memory serves right. I think this thing is worth that if not more since its a more desirable car than the iroc was (lg4 5 speed doesnt really get my blood hot).

 

Another low mile pace car comes out of the wood work. Incredible!

 

One part of my is happy to see such a well preserved car, but yet I'm saddened that it was never driven and enjoyed. Then again it came out of a Chevy dealer's collection so they probably drove countless 3rd gens lol!

Oh and I still don't like the 82-84 weird speedo.

 

Did anybody notice that this car, with 5 miles, has the clear export headlight covers installed. The only cars to get those were exports and the original pace cars used to pace the race.

 

My '83 had them dealer installed as per the original invoice. They are long gone now, and you can see where the screw holes were repaired.

If that car doesn't bring 30K something is wrong in the world. Next thing you know the government will shut down.

 

Having watched pace car sales for several years, I doubt this car will crack $25k. If I remember correctly, the McDorman car, which is very comparable to this one but was still on MSO, went for around $25k at auction.

I showed this to my wife and she joked that I'd have been better off buying this car versus the money and work I am putting in to mine.

 

LOL! Yes, always true! But then we'd have no hobby occupying us and keeping us out of the bars.

 

I think my response was "where's the fun in that..." LOL!
