Nice find. Blue plates too (some in CA are into the blue plate thing).
From the rust spots, it looks it did come from Santa Cruz (or someplace nearby).

Yup the license plate frame pretty much gives it away that it's a original Santa cruz car lol
Was told be the grandson that his grandmother's cousin owned Marina Pontiac and they got one of most loaded 82's I have EVER seen !!!
Car even has original 1982 (Title) pink slip !!!

The only thing it does not appear to have is the aluminum hood for 1982

Re: Garage find 1982 Trans Am 41K miles !!
Ya i'll have to look into that,Luckily it's stupid easy to get a title for a car in Oklahoma lol
But no big deal I go back to California(Bay Area) in a few weeks and still in touch with the grandson who has power of attorney over his grandmother's property.
Still a cool piece of paper to have for records sake

Good eye Vincent
Luckily it's just surface rust around hood and t-tops from sitting outside.Gonna have my paint guy take care of that in the next few weeks !!
Pulled the carpet today and all good,Original headliner is all there perfect NOT ripped or sagging !!! Like you see all the time on these cars.
The engine compartment area,Doors,Rear qtr's floor pans are GOOD !!!!!!

Awesome find - and a Crossfire as well. Post up more pics when you can. The 82s are unique.

It seems that cars that sit outside seem to rust from the top down... cars that are driven in the winter rust from the bottom up... I noiticed the little rust on the A-pillar and the hood, and thought that it was not unusual

Yup was driven daily until 2003 then she got to old to drive or something,My mechanic is going to flush it ALL out and drop in a new AC/Delco pump,Few gallons gas 91 octane and some Lucas fuel treatment.
One of the FEW good things about Oklahoma is we can still buy 100% gas no "ethacrap"

HA !! If it was a black/gold optioned out the same way,I know several people who know would have ripped it out from my hands.
But most likely I would have kept it for myself,I'm on the hunt for a CLEAN original Black/gold t-top car myself

Nice! I have one very similiar to yours, except mine is an LG4, and has fabric seats. Same colors though. Are you going to mod it or keep it stock?

Re: Garage find 1982 Trans Am 41K miles !!
They used to call it the metric transmission. It was the first unit to use a lot of stamped parts. It's a light duty unit. Back in the day folks used to upgrade them to TH350's and 350C's. I am keeping mine stock, but if I were going to build the car the first thing I would do is swap in a 700R4. 83 was the first year for the 700R4.

HAHA AWESOME man !!!!!!
Ya it's been a great trailer we haven't had any problems with it so far,Sadly it was a replacement trailer he got 4 years ago since my mechanics first one was stolen along with his ram diesel in a walmart parking lot He got the truck back but not the trailer.
