Absolutely Horrible
I hope this is in the right thread, everyone should see this...
Here in Louisville there are many art-inclined folk. One of our restaurants has a garage theme(as it is inside an old mechanic's shop).
The 'art' in front of it makes me sad.
This was the original setup:

Now they've gone to these two(a 4th gen and a 3rd gen bird, could be a TA, but I haven't been up close yet):

These aren't rotted shells on the tracks, they are fixable, DRIVEABLE, and now horribly mangled beyond saving, cars.
and at 1/8" an hour, Monday-Friday, they get destroyed.
I've eaten there once, and thought "man, that's a shame, but I guess if they just want the decoration once it's done 'pushing' then that's cool." but I never knew they planned to keep it stocked with fresh victims.

Re: Absolutely Horrible
They can't be that good or they wouldn't be able to afford to do that.
Anyway, it's art....
Really only a concern for people with too much time on their hands.

I swear that does not even make sense!! Evan as art. I'm an opened minded person, but can't figure that one out. Just the artist must be a jealous little hater. His mommy wouldn't ever let him have a real car! LOL Sorry that was rude

I'm all about automotive art, but this is in no manner or way can be justifed as art! As others say, it's a waste of resources as these "Fbodies" are becoming less and less available on the market. But these people just clearly aren't car fans, but rather into the art of food and decor. It not only saddens me but it angers me how the culture of today can't seem to respect the history of the automobile in general other then view it as a daily souce of transportation. Yes, i know our cars are still nothing more then metal on rubber but still, how would they like it if i go over to their restaraunt, order their best food around, and then bring it out in front of their own shop and throw it on the ground as a demostration of how their food means to me as the cars means to them.
Besides they also miss the point! Technically our cars ain't muscle cars, they are sports cars. The muscle era died back in the early 70s. the 3rd and 4th gens didn't come with 454s or 396 engines, so how are they considered muscle cars. I mean they are tied to the history of the muscle cars but again, these people don't have a clue. If you going to say "the slow death of the muscle car era" then correctly put out a 60 or 70s vehicle or change your title. I'm pretty steamed about this and hope you guys will leave a message to that restaraunt...i know i have. There...i'm done venting for now...

I agree that the cars they are using had to be pretty cheap to obtain in the first place. While I disagree with what they are doing, it's their money and their cars. You can't save them all and I'm sure much more pristine third gens have been run into the ground, totaled and destroyed over the years in the hands of people using them for what they were intended for.
