1989 TBI IROC?
Local dealer claims a Camaro to be an IROC. It has RS rims, rear drums, and the 305 TBI, But has IROC Z badging on the interior and exterior. Has 48K miles, and is actually a nice car.
Eighth digit is a E.
Here is the VIN: 1G1FP21E1KL204408
Were there any 1989 IROCs with the TBI, and if so, how many were made? If they don't have the RPO code is there anyway to find out. Thanks for any replies.

Thank you for the response. Anyone else on the production #'s. I've been searching, but cannot find specific #'s on the TBI model.

That car is not an IROC-Z. It's an RS. The wheels are RS, the taillights are RS and the steering wheel is RS. I don't need to look at anything else.
Oh, the aftermarket rims and tires they have look ridiculous. The tires are too narrow for the rim and look low rider style.

Re: 1989 TBI IROC?
I told them it wasn't an IROC, that it was an RS made to look like and IROC, and told them I'd give them $5,000.00 and they keep the Chrome 20" rims, or what ever they are. I agree, the large rims don't look good. So far they have not replied.
Thanks for the input!

E Is The LO3 305 EFI Engine Not The LB9 305 TPI. The LO3 Was Standard On The RS Convertible,IROC-Z, And IROC-Z Convertible. The LB9 Was Optional On The IROC-Z And IROC-Z Converible.

That's what I thought from the very first look.
