Have copies and a real brochure/dealer packet with ordering info plus a nifty little desk top cutout.

 

I've got one of the packets that SLP mailed to dealers with the Firehawk details. Includes the finer details and brochure. I keep forgetting to post it. I'll have it dig it up for this.

 

I've got one too, looked at it a couple of weeks ago.

 

Is that the thing which is basically the pic of the car on the cover of the brochure that is cut out around the car and was for use with the dealership display cars? I've only ever seen one of those....

 

Yes, It folds open so it can stand alone on top of a desk or car. I know a dealer that tossed out a box of the brochures and those cutouts..

I hope whoever picked up 003 will take good care of it. Beautiful car.

 

Let's hope that it gets stored away correctly & preserved in a museum. I'd hate the thought of it being vintage road raced.
That car was not for sale long. I somehow managed to lose the thread when it was first posted.
I bet people thought it would be for sale for years.

 

Interesting they said these would be limited to 250 in the planned run, but only a fraction of that number were actually built.

If it was available today, wonder what the take rate might be?

 

Sales were bad because they were steel bodied, straight axle vs. the Corvette plus twice the price at $80K.

Today it would be even more of a failure because of cars like the new 1LE Camaro and such that are incredible values for the performance.

There are a TON of other variables but that's the over simplified version lol. Marketing could have been handled better in 1991 too.

 

People weren't too excited about 1992's. Anyone paying attention knew the 93 was coming with a new body and more power, available 6spd transmission, 17" wheels, etc. AND the Firehawk was very expensive. It's not surprising they didnt sell better.

 

003 was in the Reliable Carriers warehouse outside of Detroit for the Christmas weekend.

That doesn't sound like common knowledge. Guess you have some insight into the fate of 003. Going to the US for sure.

 

Did a private collector buy it or is GM buying back some its heritage?

 

Maybe it's going to the warehouse of collectible cars/collection in Brighton?

 

I'm just trying to keep track of it for personal reasons - hoping to find out it's destination later today.
