Re: ANOTHER HIGH DOLLAR LOW MILE CAR ON CRAIGSLIST
Air cleaner, coolant hoses, worm-gear AC repair, wrung leather on the steering wheel, electric fan swap, CS130 alternator swap, new tires. There is enough going on there that the mileage may be in question. And who puts a 10-disc CD changer in a car that's hardly driven?

That's why I share these when I find them. When I see some of the little things you guys notice I question how much i really know, lol! Biggest thing I caught was the dual snorkel air cleaner. Could it be an 83 l69?

How about 110k miles. The carpet is also too worn for 10k miles, the stripes are missing from the car, and the cluster is incorrect. The 1982 cars had a double needle 85mph speedometer. Maybe the cluster he installed only has 10k miles on it, but I'd even question that! Did anybody notice the exhaust tips?

Wayyyyy too many things wrong on that car for it to have 10K. Would love to get the VIN so I can run it through Carfax and prove it.

Did anyone notice the valve covers? Look to be Corvette pieces, but maybe just centerbolt valve covers. "LT1" could be code for an L98 long block, or ZZ4 swap, or who knows... But I'd suspect the 305 is long gone. Not a low mileage original car by any means, and not a $20k car. It's probably more like a $6000 car.

There's no baro sensor, so its probably not an HO, even if its an 83.
The pointer/s on the gauge/s are not the early tapered style, but the later cut down tip/s style. You can just see it on the tach too in the other pic.
Wont those AC hoses leak when pressurized?

The least he could do is use high pressure EFI hose clamps

Talk about a "fishy" car. Nothing on it is 1982 specific ESPECIALLY that engine !

Here ya go.

No records AT ALL on Carfax before 2005, when mileage was recorded as 8,230. Several records since then, none with mileage. Sounds a little fishy to me, not sure how a car could go 23 years and 8,230 miles without ever being registered.
