I'm gonna go with front end collision. The hardware is all mixed up and wrong on the washer and overflow, the rad shroud has been through a wringer and worked over (looks like a homemade sheetmetal addition). Wouldn't surprise me to see a clutch fan. Also note the non-OE upper rad hose and the bent AC lines... Overspray on the hood latch is another hint.

One of the first things I did on my 7K mile convertible is cut those tips off.

Lost the hood decals at some point in life.
Underhood work may have been attempt at fixing vapor lock.
Was definitely a hack that installed that passenger side red fender washer and bolt in place of the headlight bracket bolt.
