1LE pricing
Barret Jackson ... $31,500 for a 92 1LE (less than 2000 miles on it).
https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Even...28-1LE--210311
Interesting that they pulled the engine, re did the bearings, rings, seals, etc. Unless it was parking in a lake ... unsure why'd they do all that. Takes away from being original.
And another (cause I was looking) ... 1991 with 85 miles on it. Seems to be a common item ... fuel pumps are dead in cars that are parked forever. My 1LE was like that. Todd's R7U was like that. And so on.

I like these prices!
Mark.

I hadn't seen any cross the $30K range yet. Overall ... good to see thirdgens making it in the auctions.

Re: 1LE pricing
The low miles aren't driving the prices like I would have expected. There was a bright red 1988 Trans Am with L98 and 5500 miles that sold for $14k. It's disappointing that these auctions are still putting our cars on Thursday and Friday afternoons with the regular 1977 Thunderbirds and 1982 Chevy Citations.
I believe our cars will get considerably more at auction if they put them on Friday night or Saturday afternoon.

Re: 1LE pricing
It is good to see at least two of these that both sold for very similar prices. I think it sets a sort of standard when multiple sell at around the same price, and giving a good benchmark of where to price others out accordingly.

Well for setting the bar high ... How about $70K? I've seen this car at an auction last year and i thought it was bid up to $50K and didn't sell. It showed up on ebay as well.

Re: 1LE pricing
Scott, I was thinking the same thing about the 88, but was told by someone who saw the Trans Am that it had been repainted which i'd bet was a factor in the lower than anticipated price.
Mark, I completely agree about the blue 1LE losing originality with the motor being pulled out and being rebuilt. I was going to bid on that car until I read that in the description. During the auction, Craig Jackson mentioned that the original owner stored it in a container, which most likely got moisture inside. I was told that it wasn't perfect in person and had some corrosion underneath. Imagine having a super low mile saved car that now has a seized motor, yikes! lol!

Re: 1LE pricing
Didn’t a super low 1990 1LE go for $50k at auction? I think it was blue..
Might have even been one of those cars that was never registered so technically you’d be the first owner of you bought it and put plates on it..
I read an article about how IROCS are a good investment and I believe that was evidence to support the argument..
Low mile TPI IROCs are listed in the high teens.. some verts are in the 20s.. when people get near $30k they don’t seem to sell.. 1LE seems to be able to get $30k+ in certain circumstances..

Re: 1LE pricing
in 2011 it sold for 59,400
http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Event...-Z-COUPE-96400
that was 6 years ago .. i dont think it would bring that in 2017 .. prices seem to be a little down over the years on these cars

Re: 1LE pricing
That’s what I was thinking of..
I saw a black Vert that sold for over $30k because it was owned by a guy who owned a Chevy dealer and ordered it in the 80s and put it right in his collection and never registered it.. same thing.. under 1000 miles and tons of documentation.. basically a collector or museum car..
Pretty cool that those cars are out there..
