Re: 19K miles or 119K?

I actually think it could be 19k

I detail cars with 20k miles that are pretty worn.

I did a Porsche Carrerra 4S with 11k miles that had a pretty worn driver seat, significant carpet wear, wear on certain controls, and even many touch up spots on the nose. My 140k mile Tahoe has less wear inside than that 11k mile Porsche.

Some people are slobs and can wear and slop up a car in 60 days of ownership..

Headlight buckets can get shiny even with original paint if people polish and wax them. Some guys did that on purpose back in the day.

The carpets don’t look bad.. The driver seat has some wear, the fog light switch looks faded. The switches, turn signal lever all have visible script/icons still. The center console compartment looks a little worn and the shift boot looks dirty, but the shifter **** looks better than some I see.

The top looks good from the photos and the rear window looks pretty clear. The nose/front spoiler looks to be painted, but I knew people that had 20k mile IROCs back in the day that painted their front spoiler after bad parking scrapes.

I think it could be 19k. My guess is a P.O. might have been a little on the heavy side and not super careful but probably did try to keep the car nice.. just lower standards than some on here.

Would be interested to see an Autocheck to see if the inspection records and title records with mileage are there.. maybe not in FL though, huh?

I'm a rather nimble guy, but getting out of my IROC is never a graceful exercise. More like a controlled tumble, which always places a lot of rubbing weight on the outside edge of the seat.

Looks like 19k is believable to me. Gm leather seats sucked in terms of longevity so a little wear there isn’t too alarming even on low mileage cars. Switch prints are intact all around, cluster faces aren’t really faded, seatbelt receivers aren’t cracked which are all good signs

Re: 19K miles or 119K?

Lots of Carfax mileage records from 1992-98 to support the low miles, 3 more mileage records since 2011 that all line up with the current mileage. I believe 19K after looking at the photos as well.

Re: 19K miles or 119K?

I would believe the mileage but parts of that car are in worse shape than my 215k mile firebird. It must of spent a lot of time sitting outside with the top down. My Door pulls have less separation. Only saying that to say its a low mileage car but it isn't a high dollar example as it would cost a lot to bring it up to the standards one would expect on a 15k mile car. The engine bay says low miles.

I have a 94 Toyota pickup 4x4 with 50k miles on it but since it was kept outside its entire life the paint is shot and the dash is faded... but then again I would say its probably the lowest mileage I've ever seen on one of those.

-- I wouldn't buy it sight unseen though too many questions on the car I would want to go through it for rust etc.

I agree 19k. 15,500 price is not bad for a 5 speed convertible.

Re: 19K miles or 119K?

It’s actually not a bad deal, and the price to fix the flaws would still put it under what you’ll pay for a pristine 20k mile car..

Hopefully it looks good underneath and runs and drives good..

Yeah, 19k based on the underhood and interior. Impressive.
