91 SLP Formula 350 TTop - should I??
Came across a 91 Formula 350 with ttops on Kijiji for 3500 CAD. I won’t have pics until tomorrow, but the seller states that it’s an SLP equipped car from new, completely rust free, certifiable, but needs paint as the original red is pretty tired. 180km, supposedly totally original. Old fella that’s getting sick owns it. I know it’s a tough call without pics and RPO’s, but wouldn’t a solid SLP 350 Formula be worth 3500 (2650USD) all day long? Anyone have any idea of rough production numbers?

Re: 91 SLP Formula 350 TTop - should I??
The car is about 3 hours away from me, so I did the reasonable thing and asked for a few pics including one of the RPO sheet. I got this back in response,
”I don't like sharing photographs of my vehicles and I'm certainly not
sending RPO's or VIN's out into the ether (Hence the no pics, don't ask in
the ad).
I sold another super rare car online and ended up with police interest I
didn't need or want on account of 3 different scams being run by someone
using the photographs I used in that listing.”
Guess we can call this one a dud. Unless anyone’s in Sarnia and wants to take a look, but I’m not doing that treck without any pics.

Yikes... I'd make the drive. Could be a fun road trip if car turns into a dud.

Get his address and then don't show up. The paranoia will eat him up alive.

You must not want the car that badly, because 3hr trip one way isn't that big of a deal. If this car is legit, it's easily worth his asking price in parts alone. I'd drive over there in a heartbeat and take the chance if I were you.

I was definitely interested, but it's more so the lack of free time I've had lately. That 3 hours turns in to 7 or 8 after checking the car out and of course getting some lunch. I just find it a bit weird that someone won't give up a single picture of the car or any further info, either was though the ad is gone and who knows what the real story was. Maybe someone actually scored a wicked deal, or maybe that car is already rotten in to his driveway.

well I'd say its worth a drive, It may be better than you expected maybe not, some times you have to look under stones
heck it could have a Dana 44 sitting under it - they turn up in the darndest places! I remember a story about a first gen Camaro A guy was gonna go look at someone beat him to it -turned out it was a Copo 427 car

Still kind of bummed that I wasn't able to get that car. Who knows what it was in person, especially with a sketch bag seller like that. For someone who's genuinely interested in a car I'm selling, I'll write a novel and answer any questions or concern that they could possibly have, not tell them that they aren't allowed to know anything about it haha
