History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
If the story is true, and the body/paint was done right, it could be a really good deal for someone. Kind of thing that makes me wish I had more room to hide future projects.
Super curious if “all new interior” means reupholstered recaros as well.
Idk why the seller wouldn’t just look at the title for the year unless the car doesn’t have one
I'd chalk it up to one of those things. A relative passes and you're stuck cleaning up and disposing of their mess. The next of kin probably doesn't have the slightest interest beyond getting rid of it. I posted it here so that maybe someone who had the room and the interest could complete the dearly departed's project. I'd hate to see something like this end up going to the scrapper just because to a lot of people it would just seem like a stripped car in a million pieces.
Stuff like this is also why I've started tagging parts in my stash as I come across them, or as I remove bits from the project... So that if someone else has to deal with it, at least they'll have a fighting chance of putting stuff back together.

Looks like Drew found you a nice specimen to play 3D Puzzles with!!! Lol just looking at it (to me) says it should be a pace car too... Only thing I couldn't see was the porcelain Pace Car badges on the front quarters, just in front of the doors. As far as I know, that paint job was exclusive to the 83 PCs.
Just keep us updated lol interested to see how this pans out for yah... At least the engine appears to be all there!!

I'm turning 40 next year and will be drawing up a will. I'll probably just put a line in there that says: "Create username on thirdgen.org and consult before attempting to move or sell the Pontiacs."lol
I'm a couple months away from 41. Already told my buddy he's gotta burn the evidence and clean-out my attic. LOL I don't envy the person that has to deal with my mess.
At some point I should really put instructions on paper and in a safe location. There are lots of notes that code be followed, but they aren't really centralized. Hmm...
I wouldn't worry to much about them contacting you about the car. There is a lot of paperwork involved when buying a car from an estate. I bought an Eldorado from an estate 2 years ago. The owners only son put a ad on craigs list before the estates assets had been settled. I contacted him from that ad and heard nothing from him. I continued to look at other cars for two months, but still had not bought anything. Out of the blue the seller contacted me. He didn't realize all the work he had to do to transfer all his fathers assets into his name. He had already placed the ad before he had settled everything and had to wait until the final settlement was approved by the government. Even then, he didn't realize (nor I) he had to title the car in his name first before he could transfer the title to me with a sale. This added 2 months to the sale but we settled on a price way below market value for my trouble of waiting to register the car.
The lesson learned, make sure all the paperwork is done including ownership transfer with the estate before you purchase a car from one. For me the seller was great and came with me to the DMV to answer any questions and provide the ownership transfer paperwork when I applied for a new title in my name.
Well I gave up on the dude. He wouldn't even return a phone call. He sent a handful of messages....then nothing. And then he updated the ad like 2 days later....
I had tried calling SEVERAL times, text messages several times, etc. You shouldn't have to work your butt off to BUY a car....it should be the other way around.
