Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
Reminds me of my highschool shop car. We had a crushed 85 IROC w ttops donated and we cut it all up. Was crazy cutting up a brand new tpi car.......
Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.

That tail insert piece is something of a late 80's early 90's novelty. The Mustang version has always been more popular.
I wouldn't want to mess with an 85 at this point. My tolerance for frustration has worn down to a point where anything with V-belts is gonna have to pull purty dang hard on the old heartstrings before I'd consider dealing with such a medieval clusterflop accessory drive.
Edit: Got thru the rest of the pics... 3.42 with a peg-leg, bet in it's prime it'd fry one tire. The aesthetic of the complete package is very reminiscent of early 90's proto-tweeker meth head. Like the owner back in the day was at a crossroads, a fork in the road... Go left, strike an opportunity and get his life together, or go right, do not collect $200, go straight to jail. Perhaps it's been sitting since 1994 because the owner had to serve time.
Hard pass.

It's really a 'total package' thing... The look of the interior, the generally weathered and faded exterior, the missing centercap emblems, choice of upgrades, story... It all just fits together with the downfall and inevitable results of misspent youth.

Anyway, for 2 grand or whatever it would take to buy it, it might be worth it for someone. Assuming no Fred Flintstone floors, that might be a good deal. What the hell, rusted out parts cars are going for a $1,000..

Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
What look? All I see is flat spotted, dry rotted, garbage that's going to cost $4+ per to dispose of. It's like a giant sign scribbled across the windshield under the sale price, that says "+$600+ for fresh rubber, because these aren't safe for use." Four Eff-You's from the previous owner. Gee, just what I need, another set of trash tires to take up space.
The news clip warning about old tires has been circulating on Facebook. Funny I just had it sent to me twice yesterday!
Those Gatorbacks were trash when the car was parked, much less now.

And I see a killer factory "look" to the burnout tires... Just imagine if it had the 1LE option..

I wonder if anyone ever saved that GTO Judge? If so, I wonder what they paid?

Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
I have a good friend that has a MINT Carousel Red Judge like that one. All restored, numbers matching 4 speed car......and a couple years ago he LS swapped it with a 6 speed, did a bunch of suspension mods, killer wheels, etc. He painted the LS the correct Pontiac blue and put painted GTO fuel rail covers on it. He kept all the original stuff to reverse the swap....

Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
I agree. It's a super killer car...but what a horrible thing to do to a mint, legit '69 Judge.
I just asked him to send me some pics of it....he said hes gonna see if he has any on his phone. I'll post a couple pics if he sends them.

It was bugging me, & I couldn't help but think there's no way two people had put a car away because of a missing stereo.
Turns out it was for sale back in November with a bigger price tag.

Drew, so what your saying is if that judge had a set of VR's it would be your dream car? Haha.
Pretty sure it has been restored. I believe I read an article about that years ago.. My 68 was carousel red when I bought it. I loved the color, & was sad to learn it was april gold from the factory. At least chevy called it hugger orange.
There's zero red in it.

I don't know, man. FREE is a powerful word. I'm sure I'd be there with my buds pulling that Goat out that $h!t. Lunch and wading boots would be on me, though.

Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
i think the IROC would be a good car to start with being it was stored inside all those years, rather than sitting outside in a field or something,if true.
now that judge, i could work with that baby .im not scared.

Re: Cheap, "starter" IROC.
If I wasn't throwing all my money at the Trans Am, I wouldn't have been scared to buy that Camaro if it had good floor pans. And the Judge. I have no shame when it comes to buying crappy cars and taking 5+ years to fix them to some what road worthy
And Dagwood, I definitely wouldn't have picked a Judge to do that type of rebuild but at least it's still driveable. Some one in the town near me has a Judge that ran when it was parked (it actually did, I heard stories, lol!) and it's been sitting for decades in his front yard, rotting away. He refuses to sell it, of course/ But it's just a shame when it was all original and then LS swapped. I'd understand if the whole drivetrain was crapped out. But - he did keep all the original stuff so that is a good thing, at least.
