History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
U wouldn't think a car with that low miles would need the rims redone and new decals.it's a nice car but i don't think it will go for more then the starting bid imo.
Needs some tic mechically. A/c is a big one. Plus the power attenna. It’s a nice car but I think with the car needing some repairs it’s more like a 10k car.
My estimate for the final selling price is $16,000 - $18,000
but I'd need to see more pics....I think I see some rattle can black on the underside pic.....I hate it when sellers do that !!

Plus it's been re-striped. Why on a low mile car? Wheels have been (over) restored and grill filler seems like a new glossy replacement. Love the car. But it seems as if it has a past.

Need to see more pics of underside....that always tells the tale
The antenna staying up would bother me.. I don’t expect 31 year old cars to have working A/C.. sometimes if you can find R12 it’ll recharge and work unless you want to do the 134A swap but that’s a few bucks.. If I wanted top dollar for my car I’d probably fix those things though.. The Cat leak too.. That’s an easy, fast fix..
In New England you don’t need A/C too often unless you’re out stuck in traffic from 1pm-4pm in July-August.. and it’s only usually one-week Long heat wave/ year..
I like the car a lot, but it’s at $16k without hitting reserve.. I wonder what they are expecting for it?
I think $17k is fair but I’d be a buyer at $14k
Would need to see the underside and check the history to see if it could be 123k Miles..
With the wheels refinished and the stripe kit I’m assuming it’s maybe repaint too which is not necessarily a bad thing, but all that could hide the true mileage.. The interior shots are a little tough to tell.
I really like what I can see though.. great color combo with 5.7L and T-tops!
Fooled me. I didn't think this was a 16k car. I agree if you ask that kind of $ why in hell cant you atleast fix these little pesky issues. Not a good sign.
I gotta great really inexpensive and performance supporting fix for that AC..... 60# off the nose? It's called an AC delete kit, you can find them all over in wrecking yards, a good heater fan cover....
typical for an original low mile IROC on ebay.....
when i see a reserve not met that price below it means nothing .. no serious buyer on that car is bidding 16k with 6 days to go ..everytime my friends put cars on ebay with no reserve they call me and others and ask to bid it up , happens all the time .. lol

I agree, thats why I never list a car on ebay as an auction style bid - I only list with asking price and "make an offer"
Too much BS with the bidders and listing a reserve price
Yeah, I’m anticipating this car to not sell and maybe re-appear with a Buy It Now price of $22,900 or $24,900..
Probably fishing to see what the interest is out there, trying to feel out what the highest possible selling price will be.. with a little help from friends as Ray alluded to..

You evidently don't live in the south. I refuse to drive a car without a working a/c in south Ms. Lol
I agree, these bids mean nothing until its registered in another persons name. So simple to get shill bidders. Unethical, but happens more than doesn't on auctions like this. Its clean, but lots of things don't add up on this one. Underside of the car is pretty messed up & would rather see grime or rust than spray bombed goo, or what ever is underneath all that krylon

We're reaching the point where, regardless of preservation technique, sometimes father time wins the battle. This car is over 30 years old and despite low miles, is in an area that seems to get cold weather. Even if it sat in a garage, all of those temperature cycles could have hurt decals, painted plastics, etc.

If you want to know the reserve, place a ridiculous bid, say $10,000,000. Observe where your bid "stops", that's the reserve or the previous high bidder's bid. Then quickly cancel your bid claiming it was entered in error.
Now honestly I don't condone peeking under the reserve in this fashion. However, everytime I've listed something with a reserve, someone inevitably does it to me, then the follow up by bidding a penny less than the reserve. That's Ebay for you.

I totally agree !!
That is why I like buying cars from the Southwest, where it is dry and warm year round

Re: Wow! Nice Medium Gray '88 IROC!
I just looked at my 89... and apparently my sway bar U-joints and brackets are black... hmm.. I do not think I would not have done them in black if they were not black originally... I apparently have... Man my memory is so faulty..

Here is an untouched original 1988 Formula for an example...
Why do sellers feel they must spray rattle can black all over the underside of the car ??
Yeah, what Chaz said.. but also they see cars like this 62 Vette at a car show and think, “That’s what a show car should look like? Gee, I can do that to my IROC with some spray paint!”
