The windshield washer bottle is not original for a 1985. I know cause I've been looking many years for an original one myself. This guy also says he is the 3rd owner, but autocheck says 6 owners for that Vin#, so who is right or wrong? Things don't add up for me on this one. But then he knew the first owner was a doctor that was 35 years old when he purchased the car and that he owned the car for 28 years so he must have the inside scoop on the car that autocheck doesn't. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Looks like a nice, but almost for sure restored, or semi restored car to me. Maybe........ The current owner wasn't told it was restored or rebuilt? I do like the details, but its miles away from being original. That criticism aside, its kinda cool seeing one that looks clean with some respect to details, rather the restored with 3 cans of flat black rust oleum. I have never seen full gloss under the hood or floor pans. Like many of you guys, I have worked around quite a few of these cars in their hay days. Was usually more like a base coat that received very little if any clear to show gloss at all. Some floors had pretty good color coverage, but never clear like that.
They should have done something with the oil pan while it was (never) apart. Looks like it might have been involved in a few roadside jumps in hazzard county.

I see some of you missed the fact that the hood insulation pad is a replacement also. The radiator support plate should be painted the same color as the car, not black, the plastic surround at the hood latch is not original, the rear badge is a replacement, the alternator is a replacement, the stickers are missing from the AC compressor and box, fender bolts should be red, not black, hood supports should be painted red, not black, the floorpans are painted and shouldn't be, the exhaust pipes are new, and who knows what else. If I look closely, I might even find some clay bar residue.

So, who’s going to message him and tell him he’s full of it?

I felt is was my obligation...lol. I just advised him that it is a nice car, but things aren’t Factory Original and that the car is being misrepresented. I listed the items for him in case he somehow doesn’t know, or just doesn’t care. Ironically, the car was built very close to mine.

It is cool though to see a car somewhat restored in this manor, instead of a butchered up with all kinds of aftermarket parts. But sticking 10-20K into one of these cars to make them correct makes no sense today, I would think we will start seeing some restored examples at some point?

Re: 1985, L69, IROC
The seller just messaged me and thanked me. He says he has two L69 IROCs, and meant to list the other one. He will have it corrected by Saturday.
EDIT: It appears the listing has already been taken down.

Broseph was trying to pull a fast one and was hoping a clueless buyer would throw money at it before someone knowledgeable called him on his BS no doubt.

Was the perfect one quickly whisked away for the owner's safety? Seems that's a thing.
