History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
200 some odd hibernating ponies. Might clean up OK, might not. Price seems unrealistic for yard art. If you cant drop in a bettery and start it up, I don't see the value. $10k and they couldnt even be bothered to throw a dropcloth over it to keep the dust off?

You wouldn't even know what you're getting here. It will certainly need the gas tank dropped. 5 grand is more like the number I'd feel comfortable with. Unless the owner wants to get it operational again and them sell it.
Condition wouldn't even be clear until a person hosed off the dirt. You always hope it'll rinse off, but who knows. I'd still want it to start and run if the asking price is more than a couple grand. A car that doesn't run isn't a car. It's a project, or parts. We give 87 Convertibles a certain status, but at the end of the day, you've gotta look at what you're investing, and what you'll easily be able to get back out. I think I'd rather have a buddy drop off a car like this and a stated budget to get it running, than to buy it and get it running only to find out the clutch is junk, and the engine is blown up. Then what? 305 isn't worth rebuilding, put another drivetrain in and all the status collector value goes out the window.
I like to pull something like this out of the jaws of death, and make it go again. I think that kind of thing is fun. I just wouldn't want to get stuck having a bunch of money tied up in it only to find out that collector value isn't worth a damn thing because too much of the original identity is beyond help. Probably just my propensity to assume the worst. Safer that way. Easier to walk away from headaches.
awesome !!! i love the gray leather interior cars and a tpi stick you cant go wrong ..
Yes sir! I really, REALLY wish it had t tops, but it has a couple other RPO codes that make up for it....G92 and N10. A couple in their 80's have it and bought it new. I'm pretty stoked! And, they have a new seat belt holder for the pass seat, too..
Yep, I actually sold it to another member on this board. I was dragging my feet a long time, but finally decided to let it go. He's been trying to buy it from me for over a year, lol.

Shocked and congratulatory.. that’s where I’m at!
Thanks! Lol. I really didnt necessarily want to sell it, but he pretty much made me an offer I couldn't turn down. But now I have to live with never finding another one like it...
Pretty cool car. Virtually the L-69 twin to my yellow '85. Needs a bit of love, but when I was looking for a yellow one, I was hoping for a 5 speed L-69.
Pretty neat. If it were close by, I'd check it out. I wouldn't want to keep the 4th gen rear, though. I hate the way that looks, and I can spot it a block away.

This is a cool car. I started bidding on it, but the seller won't answer my questions and shipping has become super expensive, like $1200-$1400. Note the big dent on the passenger door, also Carfax has a discrepancy the seller won't explain.
