Yes I believe it was an option definitely thru 1987, and also in 1988... My 87 Formula had the radio, as does my friends 86 TA

88'-89' GTA's had a slightly different radio that worked with the steering wheel radio controls.

Ok thx guys !! I was almost positive a girl had it in her 87 formula with the performance sound factory subwoofer.
Item is for sale in the interior parts section if any body needs one.
Was a working pull in 92 when it was swapped out for a CD player.
No broken or stuck buttons.

That radio you mentioned originally was the topline unit in the Firebird engine for 87, and yes you could get UQ7 with it.
