Being represented as original 75K mile IROC. Carfax says 175K miles and an accident in 2002. Also obvious repaint if you look at the pics, '89-'90 15" IROC wheels, '88-'92 interior, Firebird door panels, missing third brake light, and missing AC compressor. Looks like it's overheating on the test drive as well.
Other than that, looks like a decent car for around $4K, but not as represented.
This is also the very first '86 IROC, LB9 SPID I've seen with a GU2 code, (2.73 gear). I've looked at dozens or hundreds, who know, and they've always been GU5, (3.23) with no G92 listed.
I've had to replace 3-4 temperature gauges that burned out on my cars when I tried to start a car after sitting through the winter and the battery didn't have enough charge to start the car, but you could hear the starter clicking as I tried to turn the engine over. Somehow, this shorts out the temperature gauge on these cars. I don't know why it does this, but sometimes it does. Now I check the battery with a gauge to see if it has enough charge left in it to start the car before hitting the starter. I haven't had to replace anymore temperature gauges since figuring out this was the cause in my situation. Has anybody else had the same problem?

I forgot to mention that when the temperature gauges shorted out they all pegged out at 220 degrees or more and the needle stayed frozen at that spot.

I actually had one of the 86's with LB9 and 2.73 gearing. It had aluminum drums and an open diff. I never thought it was uncommon, but I can say I've ever paid much attention to the gearing of other non-disc 86's.
Looks to me as someone who had 3 cars sitting around and put the best pieces together to get one. Wrong wheels, dented TPI runners, missing floor mats, parking brake and sifter leather show a lot more mileage than the rest of the interior. Someone actually removed the third brake light and put plug in place rather than just swapping hatches? Who does that? Amongst the other things mentioned above... this care is a steaming pile of crap.
It just needs to be driven until the wheels fall off. Too much to fix to make it right.
