History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
That looks like a pretty decent car. I've seen 86 verts with the third brake light removed from the hatch and mounted on the top of the trunk lid after the conversion, so at least it doesn't have that!

What's it worth?
I don't know. It's before the official factory convertibles, but it's an ASC apparently made to 1987 standards.
Interesting, rear spoiler looks aftermarket with that unique third brake light. Or did ASC modify the original spoiler to mount the third brake light in their

ASC was converting cars before the 87 model year, 87 was just when they got the official job from GM. There have been a few 86s on the forum over the years.
Is the 87 third brake light different then 88 to 90 third brake lights on verts. That light looks different then the third brake light in my 88 non vert.

Yes. My former '87. Lots of unique pieces on an '87.
Wow, I did not know that! I don’t think I have ever actually seen an 87 vert in person. Plenty of 88 and up cars but never an 87. On this site for 16 years and I still find details I never was aware of. If I had seen that brake light in person would have declared it an aftermarket part.
