I was curious if there is a way to see how many of these cars were produced with 5 speeds? From what I have found I can only narrow it down to "not many".

Re: 1983 berlinetta 5speed 305

True ...
My ex-wife had one back in the early eighties. She was kind enough to let me add the IROC-Z springs, swaybars, steering box, wheels & tires to the car. We removed the Berlinetta badges so it looked more like a standard sport coupe. It was a very fun car in the day.
She liked that the VIN is difference enough so that insurance for her was much cheaper than any other Camaro. Her plates were STIKY 83 hahaha With that drive-train (plus the upgrades) we had almost as much fun with it as we would with an IROC-Z ... except it was kind of stealth like.

In most years, the only Berlinetta stick shifts were V6 models. I believe 1983 was the only year that Berlinettas could get the 305 with a stick.
Therefore, while there were a decent amount of Berlinetta stick shifts (perhaps 15-20%?) made, it seems the 305 5-speeds are indeed pretty
rare. Unfortunately, Chevy didn't keep track of option combinations, so I don't think you'll be able to determine the real number.

Re: 1983 berlinetta 5speed 305

Unfortunately the information is not quite available... I suspect somewhere along the line it was, but like tears in the rain it has been lost to time... Maybe someday GM will find it again, but we will never know until they do... There is probably no big rush to find it, so no one is looking.
