Trying to get some info on this set of rear window louvers. Can't find it in any of my books or any reference to it online. p/n 12340070 and all metal. Any help greatly appreciated.

Reason: typo
Factory louvers. That part number isn't in the 11/92 Firebird P&I catalog. I'd expect that's because it's an earlier or later part number. GM liked to change part numbers for minor changes. From the instruction sheet, looks like they don't have provisions for a high mount third brake light, so they're not for 86 or 91-92.
I've never seen a set "all metal" not even Cragar. I have a set of factory ones and the side caps are plastic with only the center section being aluminum. Did they exist with the side caps aluminum also? That part is curved, so I've often wondered. I put a set of OEM on my 89 Firebird and love them!

This is my first comment on this forums so I hope this works I'm looking for louvers for my '85 camaro berlinetta, I'm wondering where the best place to start looking for some would be?

You can see the Cragar sits higher on the window than the factory set, but I think they were the closest to factory of all brands. All factory sets are aluminum center slats with ABS curved sides.
Having had three sets of louvers, the GM pieces are pretty easily the most thought out. I had an ABS set that were rattly garbage, and an older set that came off on the highway when the plastic hinges broke. The only louvers currently offered are of the ABS variety and look horrid.
i see these for sale all the time when im searching for irocs .. the only ones i like are the ones on scotts car .. the cragars sit to high for my liking ..
Drew, are those the set you bought from me? Any issues putting them back together?
Yep, same ones. No issues really. Fresh coat of paint and they're good to go.
Wasn't too long ago I finally got around to tossing shipping boxes and happened to notice the key for the louvers taped to the packing. Almost missed it.
Has anyone seen or had a set of GM t-top sunshades?
Any info. out there?
These came in my 84.
Most lettering is worn off the sticker/plate on each except for the L&R letters.
Setting on the open roof before putting tops on.
Note the suction cup:
The sticker with the L&R print.
Note the suction cup ****.:
I have the plastic GM sunshades. Nice pieces but the adhesive dosent hold & they rattle terribly. I ended up having a upholstery shop cover them with headliner material. Came out great & so quiet...

You may want to start a new thread with the ttop sunshades. This thread is about the rear window sunshade, or louvers as they are also known as.

Yes,those are the same. Mine are still in the box so didn't realize the end caps were plastic. Bought these many years back when I still had my '88, since sold. There's a guy in our local car club wants to buy them, any idea what they're worth? I don't recall what I paid but do remember they weren't cheap.

Were you referring to mine? Mine aren't Cragar....

I was not referring to your louvers. I was stating that it's clearly visible to see the height difference in the Cragar louvers. I think they were designed to fit cars with and without the rear wiper. Here's the Cragar louvers.

"Not cheap" is accurate. My Iroc had the louvers from the factory, they're listed with the rest of the RPO codes, but the original louvers were long gone when I got the car in 1998. I finally got the set that's on there now a couple years ago from Scott. To say they're hard to come by is an understatement.
For an NOS set you can pretty much pick your price and eventually someone will pay it. Look at what relatively common NOS parts go for on Ebay, for some reference. If one of the usual suspects had a NOS set for sale, I'd expect the price would be astronomical. Wouldn't shock me to see a asking price cracking 4 digits.
