vin code confirmation

Hi Guys, Im looking at a car with the possibility of importing to England. Ive checkd Chiltons manual, but there are a couple of diigits they dont mention.
1G2FS23E3NL******
so far I can find its a USA made GM, Pontiac, Firebird , made in Van Nuys
but the restraint digit isnt there.
body type 23, not in the book
engine code E not in my copy, closest is an F
N presume 1992 but car is advertised as a 94

can someone check please.

The VIN is pretty clear. Whatever source you're using is pretty bad or you're making a mistake.

1 = USA built. A 1994 would have been built in Canada and would have a digit 2 instead of 1.
G = General Motors
2 = Pontiac
FS = Firebird (base or Formula)
2 = 2 Door Hatchback
3 = Manual Seat Belts
E = 305 TBI
3 = Check digit
N = 1992

Re: vin code confirmation

Hi there,
GM never offered a sunroof on Firebirds or Camaros, so it is definitely aftermarket. With a 305 TBI engine, it could be a base model Firebird with the optional V8, or an entry-level Formula; they came with the E code engine as standard, and you could upgrade to the code F LB9 V8 (5.0l TPI engine) or the code 8 L98 (5.7l TPI engine). The SPID tag would be useful, did they give you that info?
