History / OriginalityGot a question about 1982-1992 Camaro or Firebird history? Have a question about original parts, options, RPO codes, when something was available, or how to document your car? Those questions, answers, and much more!
My old 1985 Z28 had a excellent condition interior. I was going through pictures again and began to notice I've never seen seat patterns like this in any other Camaro. I'm sure there are some out there. What are your thoughts?
I have seen cars with the same door/side of the seat striping, but I have not seen the center portion of the seats with the (pleating)?
Here is the decoded RPO from the VIN. Center console was changed for a 5spd one and the original lost long before I got it.
Description
Your seats are not original for an 1985. They are nicely done. They look like 1984 seat material on the headrest and sides of the seats and 1983 material in the center part. Nice combination using both years I was never a fan of the 1984 Zebra style material, but do like the 1983 Plush style material in the center portions of your seats. The combination looks better than either one by itself They actually look better than the original seats in my 1985 IROC! I've always liked the analog clock in the console. Good looking car.
Here are those RPO codes you listed as Unknown.

I always wondered if the seats were not original. As you said it looks like a mashup of a couple different years. If they were redone they were redone extremely well and it would have been before 2000. That is when my friend first bought the car. I got it from him in 2012, then sold in 2016.
