Its riveted. I was able to drill out the rivets and remove the piece. I haven't put the door panel back on yet but it looks like it will work. I'm assuming i was sent the wrong part all those years ago when i bought them and did not notice. I don't have the boxes anymore so i can't check the part number but as long as they work.

I have replace more then a few door handles over my time on earth. I don't know why I did not notice that piece until now. I try to pay attention to those details. But i will never look at a door handle the same again.

It was not a straight forward process. i spent around a month on and off working on the door cards. but i do like how they turned out. they just have the right look

Yeah, Fieros and one or two others as well. Maybe Gramd Am or Grand Prix. I don't remember anymore.
