gray valve caps

Did Iroc's actualy come with these or is that a G body thing? If so, what years, and if not... what do the true assembly line valve caps look like?

Can't speak for IROC-Zs but I do know some Firebirds did come with the grey tire valve stem caps.

My '86 IROC came with gray tire valve caps. Can't comment about other years though.

Re: gray valve caps

My 89-92s have gray caps. I've gotten them from the spares on 80s GM cars. Smooth tops

Gm still provides grey valve caps with bolt in tpms, though they're plastic.

Yes they did. The original ones are still on the IROC I ordered new. They were still on the my '89 IROC convertible when I got it with 7,200 miles. And there were even a couple still on the Formula I got a couple of years ago.

Does anyone have photos of the OE valve caps? Now I'm interested to see if GM is still using that style

For reference, this is the style they send now:

Re: gray valve caps

I wouldn’t worry about it. Correct gray tire valve caps won’t overcome the incorrect tires unless you find a NOS set of Goodyear Eagle GT’s.

Funny you say that, while these tires are reproductions. These are the wheels/tires going on my T/A restoration project

Nice! I didn’t know they finally started making repro Eagle GT’s. Hopefully, they’ll do the Goodyear Eagle “gatorback” next. I hate to drive on my 30 year old gatorbacks when I finally get my GTA on the road

Re: gray valve caps

I Made a stand up table from them, they are from 1982. I’m afraid to use them. Still on my orig flakes, I figured if they have to be in my garage I might as well look at them.
