If it is a silver 85, and it has the 305 HO, and four wheel discs, and five speed. It's a nice car in my opinion. however missing the RPO tag from the console would make me a bit leary.

Is silver the original color for your car? If so it was the only year it was offered.

Also does it have the 305 HO?

All manual tranny IROCs in '85 and '86 were carbed. Silver was only available on the IROC in '85. January 1985 would have been in the middle of the production year, if that is when yours was built. All IROCs from '85-'87 got 16" wheels. 4 wheel disc brakes was an option. 3" exhaust, cowl hood, rally stripes, and the wing (if it isn't a three piece spoiler) were all owner added.

Counting your car, I now know of 4 silver 85 IROCs. Welcome to the club. Mine is a carbed LG4 with 5-speed and discs all around.

According the the Camaro White Book, "the RPO L69 (305HO, carbed), rated at 190hp, could only be ordered with the IROC package and only with a manual transmission. It was discontinued during the model year." The L69, I believe, came with 3.73s. Run a search on this site and you'll find a good deal of info--check out a fellow thirdgenner named RBL69 (I believe that's correct). The L69 came stock with a dual snorkel as shown below.

The Camaro White Book: 1967-1997 is by Mike Antonick. I purchased mine at Borders for $12.95. There were approximately 21,000 IROCs in 1985 and 2,497 of them were L69s. There were 11,684 silver cars, but there is no break down about what cars received that color. Though there were 11,684 silver cars, I've never seen another one except in a photo. You might try looking in the rear quarter where the spare is for the RPO sheet.

I neglected to mention that the White Book lists factory options for Camaros, 1967 to 1997, so you might compare the list with your 85 if nothing else.

way back when i was running a 150 nitrous kit at lacr i think i got into the uncorrected 13's. that was on gatorbacks. what was encouraging was traps at 106-108 mph, that got the regulars scratchin their heads and saying stuff like "that dont sound stock" or "is that a 305?" shake head and smile. i forget the correction for lacr i think it was .5 or .7 for the et's in that range. never wanted to set the car up for straight line- i like zinging corners. off the line its all smoke but on the fwy-seeya-i have been a real suprise to many a porsche ferrari(328) vette 87gn-the best is the yup n sunglass posers. usually their bit-h sitting in the pass.seat will give the upwardly mobile cat a good reminder of just who is in possession of the nads in their car-and it aint the dude-know what i mean

I saw a silver 85 iroc 305 auto for sale down the road from my inlaws house last year. It had some rust and they wanted 3500 for it.

If we are posting pictures of our silver '85 IROC's ... Here's mine >>

LG4 with Auto (slowest they've made, but at only 3,780 miles it's a keeper)

Mike M - Hmmmmm ... I need to figure out this thumbnail thing. Here's the link with the original pics >>
