It's believed that the 92's received covers from the Corvette, as the Vette received the new LT1 engine that very year. Also, i believe the tuned port runners had a different appearance or texture to them.

All tuned port engines used silver valve covers while everything else used black. When GM ran out of silver valve covers in 92, they used black valve covers identical to every TBI engine and the LT1's, etc... The same example is why the throttle body plates on some 92's are blank rather than the 85-91 "tuned port injection" plates. Also some 92's received corvette runners that have the same texture as the plenum on the tubes, rahter than smooth like the fbodies.

I could of sworn I added this all to the tech data last year.
