5.7 in 91 Trans Am convertible?

If you want one here's one for $30k?
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e=&cardist=115

Just for kicks I just got off the phone with this guy, I told him I was looking for a vert and they didn't make them with the 5.7 motor and his asking price was way way to high.

He said in broken English, it's "special edition" asked him for vin # and wouldn't you know it's a F (5.0 TPI engine) his reply was "no, it's special edition 5.7" He then read some ASC info.

Is there anyway possible a 5.7 was put in by ASC and would that justify the extremely high price?

VIN->F->305TPI. Thats the end of the story right there. Even if ASC replaced the engine (and... they are convertible and sunroof people, not engine people), it still didnt come that way from GM.

Just another person wanting more for their car and possibly misrepresenting what they have.

Lieing about the engine....broken FX....Overpriced....Only 1 pic....74.000 miles....

I hope he's happy to hold on to it. It wouldn't even sell a Barret Jackson, even if the FX was fixed. Even if it was a 5.7, which it isn't, unless he swapped it in.

The guy actually called me back and read the tag on the hood and said it said 5.7 and

I got tired of arguing with the guy, so I gave him the benefit of the doubt and said good luck.

Not sure of all the details, but remember that there was a merger or partnership between ASC and McLaren. They are most known for the ASC/Mclaren Mustangs, but ASC/Mclaren is also well known for the Buick Grand National GNX. They do know engines. I don't think I'd argue the factory issue with a GNX owner though!

Namecalling and such is against board policy. Continuing to do so could lead to a higher reprimand.
