Go to Auto Trader and do a search for a 1990 Camaro vert. I live 4 miles from a 1990 red iroc vert with leather interior for sale. It was bought new and original this way. Its selling for $19,995 and has 35,000 miles in mint condition. Must have built 2 not just 1?

In all honesty... Even though there were so many cars made, you could actually break down many cars to 1 of 1 if you take all things into consideration, like Color, interior color, Engine, Trans, and the myriad of options, I have never seen another 87 Formula exactly like mine, I am sure one is out there, but it is almost ridiculous to think your car is a one of one... Heck my 89 Formula 350 Vert is one of 42, and I am 99% sure that there is/was another one out there EXACTLY like mine...

Well we all know that my car is 1 of 25 built with the options I have because a guy on eBay was selling one identical to mine and his dealer told him it was 1 of 25!

Why do you need to be like that? Let me enjoy the fact that I have 1 of 25 built!! It was said on the Internet so I know I have the facts now!!! I even copied the letter from the dealer so I can add it to my collection.

Interestingly enough Scott... I have an official letter from ASC that states that they made only 10 Formula 350 Verts for 1989!!!... With that said, I find it interesting that I know of 9, and accoriding to the dealer order logs I have 42...

I wish there was only 10...

It is pretty easy really. You take percentages, and you start crunching numbers.

So there was 100,000 cars in a year, only 10,000 or 10% had the 350, and only 50,000 (50%) had T-tops, and only 10% had leather...

So if you have a Leather, T-top 350 car you take 100,000 * .1 *.5 *.1 = 500 therefore you must have a 1 of 500 car, if you take enough options and figure them that way, THAT is where you get the numbers...

It is VERY innacruate.

If you read my post above, I stated that mine is a 1 of 25 car since an eBay seller had an identical car and his was one of 25 as documented by a dealer. Since dealers have all the details on every car and know what they're talking about, I have my proof!! If you aren't catching my sarcasm, please reread all my posts in this thread with sarcasm and you'll see where I'm coming from. Now John is a different story as he just wanted to burst my bubble, but that's fine. I'll get even later!!!

In all reality, the car mentioned above is not the only car built like that so the seller isn't really selling anything rare. He's hoping to capitalize on the rarity, but unfortunately for him, there isn't any.

I'm also thinking of a good comeback to John's statement, but I can't. I just got done riding in a 2010 Camaro SS 6 speed and my head is still spinning. I need to get me one of those!!!!

Personally? I don't care to. I have a GTA and am quite happy with its L98/A4.

BTW...Typing in all capital letters is generally considered yelling on the internet. If you typed in lowercase letters, it might come across as more "civilized" than as yelling at everyone.

THere is no doubt that the car is a nice car, The thing has been brought up before, I have never seen, nor has anyone else brought it to the forefront that Chevrolet ever compiled the information in a way that you are claiming. If you were to take every option combination and break them down, there would be thousands and thousands of one of one cars. The list would be virtually endless, especially when you add in interior and exterior color combinations...

Is there another one out there??? Probably. I brought up my Formula 350 Convertible, find another one just like it... Good luck too because there was only 42 made with the 350, and I KNOW there is another one out there just like mine, I have not found it, but I am pretty sure that out of the 42 there is one with the same options. I found one that was the same color but a Black interior instead of Gray, does that count?

My bet is that before now you never knew that a convertible was made with a 350...

I have never personally seen another car with the exact options as mine. That doesn't mean I can advertise it as 1 of 1. To avertise those numbers, you need proof. The lack of ever seeing one is not a viable claim. And with my car having the second highest demanded color in 1987, you would think that there would be a duplicate somewhere. Where is it. I've never seen one in person so my car must now be 1 of 1. I believe I have also seen every last one of the other 12,104 350 based Camaros in 87.

I guess it should be said that we are not trying to beat up on you, The problem is there is absolutely no way to verify or deny that your car is a 1 of 1. It may be with the options you have listed. If you had a color combination that was not normally offered, Like a Blue car with a red Leather interior, that may change some minds...

I remember seeing a 1990 blue convertible on craigs list in Seattle about 4 or 5 months ago just like this one above. The blue color on that year does seem to be a more uncommon color so I remembered it. I think it had 20 some thousand miles on it and was selling for around $18 to $20 thousand. It's claim to being rare was it's RPO U1C radio, compact disk player, and clock which the Camaro white book says only 3 were purchased in 1990.
