WTB 140 mph "Z28" speedo

I am looking for the '82-'85 140 mph speedometer that has the Z28 logo at the bottom. I can offer up the later 145 mph speedo as trade if anyone would be interested in a switcharoo. All I need is the speedo itself, thanks.

Thanks! I didn't see it when I searched because "speedometer" isn't in the title.

It's not mine, I have never seen one like that and I remembered reading your post, good luck.

Hey guys. I hate tio revive this thread with a little voodoo magic, but I was also looking for the same speedo.

Searching ebay and froogle returns nothing.

Does anyone have any idea where this speedometer can be bought or where it even comes from?

Sure. On this very site--imagine that! After market piece, 82-89 cable driven. I remember seeing them in the Classic Industries Cat in the mid-90's. Note that the trip odometer is placed differently than a OE piece--and, of course, the hole for the resent button.

I have 2 of The 140 clusters with the Z28 logo however both have broken trip reset stems and "as usual" the trip meter is probably not working. $85 plus shipping for one complete cluster

I don't know if those speedo heads have "J" clips or not. Here's the fix on OE clusters:

Re: WTB 140 mph "Z28" speedo

The trip reset button is in the same location as the '82-'83 speedo (the '84 "double needle" speedo is a one-year deal) and is a different setup than the '84-up units.
It's my understanding that these speedos were originally sold over-the-counter through the dealer. There were also some aftermarket 160 mph speedos sold by a company that specialized in Corvettes.
