does it mess with cruise control and speedometer? my cruise control certaintly dont work, but the lever for it is cracked to so may be wiring up there. my speedometer freaks out all the time. Replaced VSS, so know thats good

Re: VSS Buffer Box

Nope - That's the Cruise Control module.

The VSS buffer is just a circuit board placed inside a small YELLOW plastic case. Keep looking - your looking in the right area !!!

P.S. The VSS Buffer accepts the signal from the tranny mounted speed sending unit and splits it into 2 signals. One of them is split again & those 2 leads feed the speedometer and the ECM (2000 PPM). The other signal is multiplied by 2 & sent to the Cruise Control system. (4000 PPM)

Re: VSS Buffer Box

sweet thanx. seen the yellow box in a junk yard i think. was in simmilar placed looked like. but had two connectors of wires going to it instead of one

Found were my buffer box is, and ECM. I Gotta figure out how to test or get ahold of one of these. Looks like buffer boxes harder to find online.
