have a 90 camaro need new steering column what years witt work? car has tilt and cruise not sure about airbag but if so do i need to put another one in that has air bag or can i us an earlier steering column need help asap btw car is being swapped to carb so eliminated computer and switching neccisary cables

 

1990 has VATS - if you get a column from before 1989, you'll need to do the VATS bypass.

1990 has airbag - whether you 'have' to have the airbag depens on your state inspection laws - but you can swap in a non-airbag column if you desire (and if it's legal).

Can I ask why your switching out the entire column? I'm just curious - I see many threads this year about folks swapping out the entire column and Im kind of confused because everything that I can think of in the column is repairable.

 

depends on whats easier/ cheaper might fix it the steering column if messed up where the tilt is it tilt dont work and steering wheel sits off to the right of the column

 

OIC. Tilt is an issue, after 20 years of abuse they aren't happy anymore.

There's many threads about fixing tilt wheel - I personally never did it, and I don't know how bad off yours is, but a search should get you plenty of threads to look at and see if your issue is the same and whether or not you think yours is correctable.
