Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

I know this is a long shot but Ill ask anyway...

I would be willing to buy the 85 only charcoal L/S front seats, back seats and door panels from anybody willing to sell them for the right price. They must not be worn, torn or deformed in any way. I am willing to pay for quality.

Do not tell me about any "NOS" fabric, because we all know that is reproduction material and looks nothing like the original.

I just want factory take outs from an 85. Here is a picture I found for reference. If I can find them in this good of shape, I will be happy.

Free bump and good luck.

I looked for a long time for a "NICE" blue set for my '83. It's tough/almost impossible to find any that don't at least need the front seats recovered. And as you said, none of the fabric available is an exact match for the OEM fabric. And I'm not just talking about the CAMARO CAMARO CAMARO part either. I still haven't found any blue bolster fabric I'm happy with.

Bottom line, IF a mint set turns up, it's probably worth the price to get it.

Yep. . ditto that, couldnt find anything NOS so I refurbished all the hardware added xtra reinforcement and had an upholstery shop recut new foam and recover. I changed the direction of the bolsters to add a personal touch and a little xtra piping.

Note. if you go to refurbish the adjusting mechanisms the acme thread followers will need to be replaced and you will have to have them machined.

Thanks. I just learned that my "dark blue" 1985 custom cloth interior is really black, just faded. That sucks. The good news, is that my interior now is in really good shape, so I have pretty much unlimited time to wait until I come across an LS set that I like, since I will be keeping the car forever.

Do me a favor. Ill alert you if I find an ad here or elsewhere on the internet for a mint blue set, and you do the same if you find charcoal.

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

I figure its been almost a year. Time for another bump. Im looking for black 85 L/S seats front and back door panels with no rips, wear or tear. Im willing to pay for perfection. Look at the top pic for what Im looking for.

No repro material, or interiors with cars attached please! (John in RI, if youre willing to separate, im willing to listen)

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

Rear Seat only,......Top and 2 bottoms, 1-piece back-rest = $225 + shipping.

P.S. I dismantled my 85Z so it's no longer for sale - right now !

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

I never had the matching front buckets for the 85 "Camaro" rear seats. I got the rear seats only at the time. They are also not mint, there is a few minor defects. ( To me, NOTHING is mint unless it's Brand New ! )

I've got some LS contuer bucket seats too, but they are the Trans Am style,..... NOT the Camaro version. ( Means there's bolster and Lumbar ***** on BOTH seats. ) Color is Grey/Blue from an 84 Trans Am. Drivers seat is ripped, passenger seat is not. These seats are heavy !

Figured I mention it since your aiming at re-covering seats anyway.

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

I noticed that Hawks sells a re-skin "kit". Just wondering the quality of the material they sell if I were to re-skin some LS seats...

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

BUMP. Getting a little tired of my faded black (now blue) seats. Check top pic for the desired quality I am looking for. Am willing to pay more than you think for said quality.

Two fronts, backs and door panels. No repro.

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

Going on 5 years now. Seats have to be getting more wear every year. In 5 years I've only seen 1 set in a car that had mint seats. It is a yellow 85 with the Conteur Interior but only has 656 mikes on it. If the budget is unlimited then buying a car fir the seats might be the only option.

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

Realistically your not going to find a set. It won't be perfect but you will need to find a set of proper l/s seats and have them recovered. The price John is asking for the rear seat is not bad at all which leaves you only needing a front set of seats and door panels. I know it's not what you want to hear but these seats did not hold up all that well with sun fad and wear on the drivers bolster. If you go to my thread on L/S seats you can contact one of the suppliers of original auto fabric. Will it be dead perfect? Probably not. But how long do you really want to wait?

Whatsup Subroc. I went for a spirited ride in your car with Bryan back in April. Remember?

Thanks for the info. I know Im not likely to find a set that doesnt need work, but whats the harm in asking/dreaming....

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

Oh I remember how you doing? You can keep trying and who knows you might find someone parting one of these cars out that got wrecked with low mileage. I still think your best bet is going to be to make them yourself if you really want them. Personally I think they are worth it but I'm biased.

Re: Charcoal Lear Siegler Interior

Yeah I think they are worth it too. Bryans seats in his TA and your seats were the first sets ive ever sat in. For 30 year old seats, they really are more comfortable than most modern cars.

They're out there. Just have to keep checking every possible outlet. I found a set of mint black fronts that were stored for 25 years on FB the other day
