85 Dash Pad
I traded off my 94 v6 for an 85 berlinetta and it needs some parts. I would really like to find a non cracked black dash pad for my car. The pod radio also if someone has a good one cheap. Let me know if you have one and what you want for it.

I've got a non-cracked dash pad as well as a working non-cassette Berlinetta Deck. They are both in good shape,......... these are not "cheap" parts your asking for. If your truly interested than feel free to shop around & then make a serious offer for them. Be sure to post your ZIP code for a shipping quote.

Dash i know isnt cheap but the radio pod should be since it tends to not work alot of times. Mine only lets the dash speakers work sometimes or just 1 if it doesnt glitch out and just make loud noise when its off.

Re: 85 Dash Pad
Sounds like the radio module could be bad, not the radio if all the buttons and such work correctly.

If you know how to solder you might be able to fix some of the issues by re-flowing the solder. Could also try replacing old capacitors.

I've got a cassette radio and control module for $115 shipped in the lower 48. I know the radio itself and all the functions work. I do not have any cassettes to test that part, the door opens and closes good.

Re: 85 Dash Pad
Remove the plastic console cover, disconnect the wiring connector and unbolt the base. There's a spring/clip underneath that you need to keep an eye on. It's there to allow the upper portion to be set at certain angles. The back of the upper portion has very small screws.
The bottom should simply unbolt, and iirc contains the speaker outputs which may be where the problem is. You would want to carefully open the case while remembering how it goes back together.
Then look at the solder joints to see if they're shiny or greyish. If they're greyish (oxidized), then you would want to reheat the joints with some electronics flux to re-flow the solder.
Found a vid with a quick search: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...YA9ufb4Jc#t=17
(Actually not the best solder job, but shows the principle of it. It's common to add solder but you really only need to add flux.)
It's been a few years since I've opened one so the above may not be entirely accurate. If some of that is above your head try asking an electronics friend if they might be interested in doing it.

Re: 85 Dash Pad
I'm betting that the speaker problems your describing are caused by the reciever that gets mounted inside the center console. It COULD be the radio "head" - but the receiver is usually the cause of Fade/Balance problems.
Be advised,.... the radio receiver for a non-EQ radio and the EQ style Berlinetta radios are NOT the same.
