ABS Headliner few questions?

Is there still a problem with the mounting of the dome or has that been corrected?

I have the over head console on my 86 IROCZ and am wondering will it cause me any problems getting the ABS headliner?

Also do the seat belts slide in through slits in the headliner or do you have to cut them yourself?

What about leaving it uncovered or is it better to buy it upholstered and buy the sail panel covers too?

i got one of the abs headliners a couple years ago, i had no prob mounting my standard dome light, i dont know about the overhead console though., if i recall i had to cut the slits for the seat belts, although the abs may have been cut already. also this was for a T-top car if it makes a difference.

I have the plastic headliner for my 89 T-Top, bought it about 4 years ago, didn't have any problem with the dome light. The slits are there for the seat belts, but I couldn't put the covers over them, but it's not really noticeable.

Sounds like they did not make it to 100% specs what a shame. The seat belt covers should go back on why don't they fit? I have been reading up some people have probs some don't all say the dome light is cut out for backward installation. Gee how did they stuff it up when making it.

Its been a few years since I did mine. I did have fit problems, I spent the better part of a day getting it to fit just right. I had to do some little mods to make stuff work. Can't give details been to long. In the end it looks factory.

I got mine already covered, and it had the left over material with it that was more than enough to cover the sail panels. What was left over was were they cut the T tops out.

drag racer who did you buy from? That was pretty good that you could upholster your sail panels.

I can't remember. I really think I got if from a E bay store. I looked at my past feedbacks ,but none stood out as the seller.

Got mine from Year One. They gave extra material for sail panels. Install was easy and the only problem was the seat belt covers, the passenger gave me a rough time. I also had to cut out the seat belt area.

So the seat belt covers do not attach to the headliner with the ABS one? Do you have to leave it without it?

the seat belt covers at the headliner attach to the seat belt holder deallys themselves... they snap right in and out... the headliner just needs a hole for it.

On mine I just left them off, the covers would not snap on, the dimensions were off from the original cardboard headliner. You really don't notice that they are not there, my belts & headliner are both black.
