Automatic shift indicator question

I did a search, but could not find the answer I was looking for. I took apart my center counsel today to clean it and fix the shift indicator. On most cars, there is a little orange needled that would tell you what position you are in (drive, reverse, neutral, ect). However, there is no evidence of this on my car. There is just a light bulb. Is there even an indicator (the little needle)?
I have no problem with it if there isn't, I'm just trying to repair everything I can right now. The light bulb is shot too, so I'll be replacing that today.

A lot of thirdgens had no indicator. On Camaros at least I think only the 90-92 cars had one?

They've got the lighted "PRNOD2L", but not necessarily an indicator.

My 89 has one. I believe all camaros with the square auto shifter had them.

Re: Automatic shift indicator question

For shift plates that don't have the moving indicator quadrant, I thought this would look nice for a custom install or for a Dual Gate but the hole isn't long enough for the shifter throw. The side indicator model is also just a wee bit too wide for the Camaro console.
