Temperature Control Cable

I'm new to the Camaro scene, and when I bought my Camaro (87 IROC) the guy who sold it to me told me that the temp door was broken, and I had to move it manually to switch from AC to Heater. I got down there, and noted the cable that apparently goes to nothing, and the broken off nub from where the lever used to be. I can move the nub, but it's REALLY hard to do. I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere where I could buy a new nub and cable kit, so I don't have to keep doing this. Also, the Chilton showed that there was a "sound insulation panel" underneath the passenger side of the dash, which isn't there now, probably due to the owner having to change the temp door setting manually. Is there anywhere I can get another of these panels?

hush panel

common

your local chevy dealer can probably get you the parts youre looking for other than the hush panel, in which is dirt common for a/c equipped models

good luck
