Swapping Speedo's

I have an 87 camaro with an 85 mph speedo in it if i get a 115 or 140 what would i have to do to make sure it works properly or is it just basically plug and play?

it's just plug and play.
but there is a company that you can send your current speedo to and they'll reprint it to 140 and recalibrate it.

I swapped my 85 speedo for a 145 unit and it was an easy swap. I had to remove the 145 speedo from the cluster and put it into my cluster beacause some of the gauges did not work. My car is a 84 model and the donor was a 87 iroc. both speedo's where made the same and both where cable driven so it was no problem at all. Definatly a nice upgrade.

Plug and Play. I advise swapping only the speedo head. Check the following link for more info:

Anyone know what year the camaros when from cable driven speedo to electric? I am planning a swap of my 91 5 speed into a 88 Iroc and wondered if I will be able to plug in the speedo the same as it was in my 91 or will I need to change things to accomadate a cable driven speedo. Or for that matter if I could swap in my gauges from my 91 easily? Thanks in advance guys!

The last year for cable-driven speedos was 89. The swap from a 91 to an 88 wouldn't be accomplished easily. The guage cluster itself is different.
