4th gen seats into a 3rd gen

Well I found black leather seats at a junkyard for 200 bucks for the fronts. I think i got a sweet deal. I have the tan interior though. Do you guys tthink that would look bad, black leather seats onto a tan interior?

Also, is there any ways to take our seat belts apart so I can use the holder on 4th gen seats. It dosnt split in half like the third gens do....

Thanks guys!

i dont think it will look all too hot, but you can always convert your tan interior to black

Of course it will look sweet, keep the seats and enjoy 4th gen comfort. As far as the guides go, I used the original ones and reto-fitted them (IE drilled holes onto the new seats )

Eh...i'm sure you will want to have the rears re-wrapped in black after a while. 4th gen seats are much more confortable FYI. You'll like them. Everytime I ride in my buddie's LT1 SS, I always feel like stealing his seats and swapping them out for mine

I just removed the seat belt guides from the seats. Then I cut the guides in the middle if the guide inbetween the screw holes. Then you just put the seatbelt threw the notch and screw it back on. You'll never noticed it, especially on black seats.

i love my cloth 4th gen seats! Def. one of the best things you can do for creature comfort, plus they look sweet!

I wish i woulda nabbed them up sooner though, i had been eyeballing them for about a year in the junkyard. Would have saved some cleaning, seeing they were exposed to the elements.

If I ever recover them, I'm going black leather.

I dont have back seats. Well i removed them for weight purposes. I asked them how much they would want for the rears, and they said only 100.

200 bucks for the front seats though, I couldnt go wrong, You guys think i got a good deal?

They do need to be cleaned up though. There was a paper on the seat, when i took it off some of it stuck to the seat. But im pretty sure some elbow grease will take care of that!

Come on now, how much weight are you really saving? The back seats can't really weigh that much.

Well, if you follow that logic, did you take the headliner, carpet, AC, emissions, ect, ect out?

Don't forget to remove the padding on the sail panels

I think those leather seats would look terrible with your interior- you should sell them to me, along with the rear seats for $250(after all, I am doing you a favor by preventing you from making a HUGE fashion mistake...).

I vote keep the tan interior. Just clean things up..maybe toss in a 4th gen center console if thats your thing... I wish I would have gotten ebony seats instead of the charcoal...but I still like mine. They match parts of the interior and the center console just fine.

Just my opinion.

Justin

Small ones courtesy of cardomain's crappy resizing.

I was just checking out your cardomain page too. I must say that I love how that looks with the tan interior. It helps make the center console and seats stand out more and look really sexy! Black door panels and I think it would be perfect.

I took out my rear seats for weight purposes... nearly 40lbs! Unbelieveable that equates to +4HP across the board. You'd be suprised how much junk you can eliminate. Plus I like the cleaner look. I know the front seats weigh at least 2X as much as the 4th gens. Congrats on the seats, it's the best mod I've ever done, although it did cost me nearly $400. Well worth it. Your interior should be standard black plastic so it should match nicely!

Black and tan interiors are awesome. I did it to my car and love it. Put on some black sun visors if you have a tan head liner. Very nice!
Get rid of all the silver and the red or orange door locks, ash tray and seat belt buttons also and go gold or tan.
