90 1LE Camaro Interior Seats - What years are the same?

Guys, needs some help. Just purchased a 1990 1LE Camaro and the seats are showing some slight wear.

Two Questions:
1. What years are compatiable with the base seats?

2. Do they re-pop the seat covers? If so where can I get them from?

Thx,
Greg

to your first question:
Any seat from any third or even 4th gen. 4 bolts, all have the same bolt pattern, take old off, put in new seat and bolt down----all done.

Your best bet would be year one or Camaro heaven, something like that, if you wanna find good seats, or covers, for your car. The 1LE doesn't have any special seat, so you shouldn't have to pay through the roof or anything.

Good luck.

The hard part is finding ANY thirdgen seat in good shape. It would help to have a picture of the seats so we know which ones you've got, but I'm guessing that you've got the "base" level seats that have the integrated head rest, and not the better seats with the adjustable head rest. If you've got the premium, the same overall style of seat could be found in 88-92 camaros, but I'd be surprised if their fabrics stayed the same for that whole period. I'll defer to somebody else on that answer. If you've got the basic seats, they were in all year thirdgens, as well as a lot of other cars during the 80s, but their fabric styles probably changed over the years too. But either way, finding a set that's in like-new condition is going to probably require a miracle. Unless you're lucky enough to find a guy that just totalled a low mile survivor, you're not going to find much.

As for aftermarket covers, they are available, but they don't use the same fabric as the stock seats. That fabric is no longer available.

Here are pics of the aftermarket covers. As you can see, the style is the same, but the fabrics themselves aren't.

I have a set that looks like that top pair sitting in my room right now. That is exactly what my car had stock. I can take some pics and post them later if you wanna consider buying them. There is 0 wear on the passenger side and the only problem on the DS is the outter/upper side support is a bit worn in color, but not torn or anything like that.

I had no idea the adj headrest seats were considered better. Makes the car I ripped appart even nicer. Oh well. No turning back now

I have no idea what shipping on something like that will be, but who knows. later

They were part of the premium seating/interior option. They were considerably more comfortable and plush than the base seats, and were much nicer looking as well. Unfortunately, the quality of the fabric & foam was still just as bad, and with the deeper bolsters, they usually wore out even faster.

The 90 has the "Cheap" seats. Unfortunately this is the best picture I have at the time.

What year(s) did these seats come in? Were they 1990 only?

Im pretty sure those came in the standard interior up till 92. The deluxe had the word camaro on them.

A 90 1LE thats pretty dam rare car. Its a 305 right? The 350 cars were even rarer for that year.

Yes, it's a 305 car.... 1 of 34 built. The guy who ordered it didn't know he was ordering a 1LE car. (hard to believe)

So the interior is the standard interior from 90 - 92?

BTW, does anyone repop the IROC emblems on the lower ground effects and the rear? Anyone have a set of NOS?

If you have those seats, then yes, you do have an upgraded interior. Sometimes cars were optioned very strangely.

I had an 86 2.8 Camaro that had absolutely NO options except for the premium seats. No air conditioning, no power anything, but it had the nice seats, which also came with the matching door panels.

try MODERN DAY MUSCLE - HOME. I believe that they still have an ample supply of most NOS emblems, though the "IROC" ones are just about the hardest to find.
