i bought all the lights seperately there was close to 15 i think. i just used red 194 replacement bulbs they arent led's but they are very bright im happy with them. some of them were kindof a pain yes but i didnt pull the cluster at all, all i took out was the bezel and painted it red and then i took out the clear plastic piece so not too hard just a little time consuming and a couple of the bulbs were frustrating.

i tried to replace the one in the hvac controls but gave up trying idk how to get to the light...

here it is with the lights off.

I have to say I really like it; I used to have a CD player back in the days where you could change the color of illumination at the push of a button from ember to green, now how cool would that be?

Pull the HVAC control head a bit forward. The single 194 is on the pass side, a twist-out, IIRC.

I used high-intensity 194's and did the following:

could this be done with blue lights, my 91 rs is blue and my stereo light colors are blue, just think it would be a great look with everything the same color, if so where would i get those lights from.

I did the same thing in my T/A. It looked freaking awesome. I tried using red LEDs first but they didnt scatter the light enough so it looked stupid. Switch to 194R bulbs and problem solved.

i got mine from wal-mart but it was kinda expensive b/c they only sell them in packs of 2 and your going to need close to 15 i cant remember how many exactly. but the wal-mart we have here also sells the 194 lights in blue and it is done the same way it will look the same as mine except blue and they are pretty bright im very pleased with them. and like i said ive had them in for over a year and they still look great.

ash tray switch panel

what i did for the speed limiter removal.lol.i took the ash tray out,cut a hole for the wires to go in through the bottem.i figure u can get 3 switches in there and still be able to close the lid and hide it all if they are lo pro enough.u might be able to squeeze 4 in there if you have them like this

l - l l
the dash (-) would be a switch in there sideways because of the way the ashtray is.but then again,i got a 92 camaro.

i had xenon bulbs in everything, and with the the stock color trim ring around the gauges they glowed blue. however they burnt out pretty quick, so i replaced them with stockers. looked sweet for a while and i really liked it, but got frustrated with a bulb burning out every couple weeks.

seemed every time i'd turn on my lights, i'd have a new bulb burnt out.

i hope you guys have better luck!

hey man i used some of those xenon bulbs for my license plate lights and when i put them in i turned them on to check them out. and those things get REALLY hot and pretty quick too i wouldnt recommend them for dash lights i can see why you had some burn out on you. but these ones that i put in are the same style bulbs as stock but they glow red. i dont even think they are supposed to be brighted or anything, but they have worked out excellent for me no problems and ive had them in there for over a year.

CUSTOM SWITCH PANEL

i just made a custom switch panel that has 4 switches w/leds that come on when powered and professional looking labels. i made the box out of thin plywood and covered in with vinyl. it sits right up between my t-tops in front of my rearview mirror. (doesnt obstruct view!) i wish i had a picture because it looks like it came that way from the factory. it really came out nice.

you arent that far from me, i could def make another one for you for a small fee. say, a case of beer and some time to bullshite about our cars

The 90-92 cluster only needs 4 bulbs, but because the text is yellow I've heard that colors besides white and amber don't look good.

Damn! That just killed all my hopes and dreams, lol. That red looks really sweet.

I dont think I understand how you changed your bulbs without pulling the cluster. Mine go in from the back. I remember from when I had to change a bulb (which is out again) I had to pull the bezel and all that good junk and then pull the cluster but because of the steering wheel it didn't come all the way out. So I just kinda flipped it and twisted the bulb carrier deal out and then popped a new bulb in and twisted it back in.

I know theres more than 4 bulbs in my 90's dash.Theres around 4 biguns and about 6 or so liluns about the mag light size ones. And plan ta try the blu bulbs since my radio display is blu and the EQ will do amber and blu/grn.plan ta check the radio and eq see if the bulbs are changeable even with soldering.just in case the blu looks like crap.

The other bulbs are for the idiot lights and then there are 3 small ones for the high beam and turn signal indicators. There are only 4 bulbs that light up the 90-92 cluster.
