Small Light bulb above Ac / Heater Control

There is a small light that is located under the panel, that shines down through a clear plastic piece , down on the AC heater control thing.

Has anyone replaced this thing. it is inside a cylindrical case and I cant figure out how to get to the bulb. Before i crack the darn thing please help.

does it unscrew or snap off ? and what kind of bulb does it take ?

Thanks,.

I pulled my top dashpad off and saw the bulb thatway. You are talking about the one that shines out from the bottom of the center heater vents right?

Close, But no on my 89 it is in a different location. Ive found out these dash panels are slightly different.. I guess based on the year.. my bulb is near where the firebird rear defrost switch is located.
