4thGen carpet fit? Paint Plastics & Dye Fabric?

The carpet looks damn close. I was just wondering cause I can score a clean tan carpet from a 93 Z28 for free. I just got the matching cloth seats earlier, and would like to know if the carpet is do-able because mine is grey and trashed pretty bad. I don't want to buy new carpet until I retire this car from daily driver status (after the body exterior is done and when a V8 swap commences) so a clean free used carpet would be awesome right now.

I also want to paint all my grey plastic black. I have primer and gloss black. If I clean up the panels really good, primer them up, and hit it with a few coats of gloss black and some clearcoat will it look ok and how long would you expect it to last? If not, I saw some "Fusion" paint that was especially for plastics, is that stuff any good?

And I want to dye my cargo cover back to dark black with some spray dye or fabric paint, I was wondering if anyone recommends a certain brand that worked well for them and has stood the test of time.

Thanks in advance guys.

P.S. The fourthgen seats feel WAY nicer, talk about a lucky score.

No, on the carpet.

I'm starting to test the "Fusion" paint. Its impressive so far, I used it on the firebird's plastic ebrake handle, sprayed it on a few days ago as a matter of fact. I use the ebrake about everytime I park the car because its a manual, so, I'm going to see how well the paint is on something that gets human contact on a regular basis. Don't use a primer, this stuff bonds to plastic very well. I'm not using a clearcoat either, for now anyway, I'm afraid it would make it look too shiny. I think there is a clearcoat spray paint that is foggy so it wouldn't be clear and shiny????

Nice, I might have to pick up some Fusion stuff. But I was wondering if some standard rattlecan paint would work since I already have a buttload of the stuff. I used it to respray all of the black parts on the outside of the car that were starting to lose the finish (made quite a big difference btw)

I'm thinking clearcoat of some sort would be sort of necessary to keep scratches at bay for any amount of time though. Thoughts???

If this Fusion paint bonds decently maybe its not needed though.

My car doesn't get hard usage, I make everyone respect my interior. But still... I DO have two kids, and my 4 year old son loves going for rides in the Camaro.

what about the carpet doesn't match up? I have a 4th gen carpet from a car i parted out, but i haven't laid it in my 84 yet to see how it lines up. It sure looks the same aside from extending over the gas tank area

The "tunnel" for the transmission is slightly different shaped. The floor pan is a little bit different. I've just heard people have tried it and it didn't work for them. Personally, I've never tried it.

i dont beleive the "Standard" rattle can paint would work, b/c the way krylon fusion works, is it bonds to the plastic, not just dries on top of it. so the "Standard" i'd assume would chip easily...where as, my paint job on the plastic interior panels has yet to chip, except where i was a moron reinstalling them in a rush one night and scratched it with a screw driver along the way...lol. no biggie...tape off the area, respray...good to go!

i never though about doing a primer/basecoat/clearcoat on these...that might look cool...extra shiney! lol. maybe ill test my fuse cover or something that i dont care about lol.

I did some web searching and found this fabric dye in a spray can, Has anyone tried this on their fabric door panels?
Fabric Spray Paint by Simply Spray for Kids Crafts Auto Upholstery Fabric Repair Wholesale Dye

The fusion paint works great for me.
