What removes the adhesive from tint ?
The tint on my hatch is old and bad, its gone now, but its left a film on it that hinders my ability to see properly. It looks like I am looking through water without goggles on. I've tried some basic adhesive removers with no luck.. any suggestions?

i heard of using some sort of cleaner and then you spray the cleaner on a garbage bag and then plasing tha garbage bag on the hatch(underside) and wait for it to dry(leave car in the sun).then just peel off. i havent tried it becouse i havent had the time for it becouse. im in the same boat as you.i just have a crapy tint job i want a new darker tint.or just pay a professional tinter. curious does your defogger system work

Acetone will remove it. I would try a small section first. Don't get it anything plastic (it could damage it). Not sure what it will do to the Rear Defroster though.

WD40 removes glue and other adhesives. Goo Gone also works but has a solvent base.

yea, im doing the same thing here too. i believe with the garbage bag trick you spray full strength ammonia on the adheisive, cover both the inside and outside with a garbage bag, then let it sit out in the sun for a while. just so the ammonia doesnt evaporate, otherwise its no good.
im using full strength ammonia to remove the adhesive off mine, along with a ton of razors. you can try #0000 steel wool to pick up any little peices of adheisive ya missed, just so long as the steel wool is well lubricated with ammonia.
i've tried goo-gone myself. it works, but it seems to do it a lot slower than ammonia.

You have to watch usng straight ammonia it can etch your glass and really make a HUGE mess that will require replacement and it doesn't show up immediately it may be afew weeks to a year before you see it.....I used to be a professional window washer, I am telling you from experience.
They sell a tint kit removal at the local auto parts store comes with spray and razors. It s not the best but does work and it is a pain in the ***. Tok me a couple of hours for both doors. Now my hatch is falling apart oh joy.

just use acetone. it will not hurt anything at all. all the plastics in the back and the quarters and kick panels are unaffected ( I use acetone to clean them and never had a problem) sill panels on the top of the door and the step sill plates will melt though so stay away.

Well the way I did it was spray a little window cleaner on it and take some kind of scraper to it. You might break a bunch of razor blades and it takes some time to do but it will come off.

Tint off tin t adhesive remover works good, but I don't know where to get it. Someone gave me a bottle years ago and it is now gone. Windex and a razor blade also works great.

Glass cleaner and a FRESH razor blade then use very fine steel wool to go over all of the glass.

How would you get spray paint off of the glass. Some idiot who had the car before me spraypainted the back glass.

paint stripper on a rag and be real careful on the edges. or just use a razor scrapper and hold at about a 15 degree angle. should come off pretty easy with the razor.
