no speedometer

My speedo is dead. I had the speedo cable replaced but no dice. Is there something else I should try or did they possibly damage the cable during installation?

Axle/Gears: Limited Slip 3.23's

Speedo head may be dead or the drive/driven gear faulty (or pehaps the cable ends aren't properly seated in the speedo head or driven gear).
